Fixing the Gas Station activity:

If the Gas Station activity does not work, copy the "Y06.BTF" file from the "DATA" folder on the CD-ROM to the Busytown "DATA" folder on your hard drive (most likely found in Program Files), replacing the "Y06.BTF" file that is already there.
